Basic Carbine Course

Basic Carbine Course Description:

This 5-hour Basic Carbine course is designed to provide the new shooter with concepts of carbine/rifle shooting. The primary focus will be on fundamentals of marksmanship, safe handling, equipment handling, malfunctions clearance, and tactical and empty gun reloading techniques.  Students will learn about their rifle, how zero optics/sights and beginning defensive rifle concepts.  The goal of this training is for the student to have the confidence and understanding to be a more capable shooter.

Prerequisites: None

Course Topics Covered:

  • How to zero optics/sights to the rifle
  • Fundamentals of marksmanship
  • Loading and unloading
  • Malfunction clearance
  • Tactical and Empty gun reloading techniques.
  • Building blocks to accuracy
  • Intro to defensive shooting

Ear and Eye Protection (Range Rules)

Semi-Automatic rifle

Magazine pouch

2 to 3 rifle magazines

200 rounds of practice ammunition

Shooting mat (Optional)

Carbine 2 Course

Carbine 2 Course Description:

This 4-hour dynamic carbine course is designed to provide shooters with more advanced and dynamic shooting techniques. The primary focus will be on improved marksmanship, accuracy at speed, shooting on the move, positional shooting, shooting from cover, and students will also learn about multiple target engagements. The goal of this training is for the student to have the confidence and understanding to be a more effective and efficient shooter in.

Prerequisites: Carbine 1 or Military/Law-Enforcement experience

  • Shooting on the move
  • Shooting from cover
  • Multiple target engagement
  • Positional shooting

Low-Light Carbine Course

Low-light Carbine

This 4-hour course is designed to familiarize the shooter with utilizing a weapon mounted light on their carbine. The shooter will learn light manipulation techniques, low-light movement principles, and creating and avoiding photonic barriers. We will discuss different types of weapon mounted lights and what to look for when purchasing one, including things like candela versus lumens, types of activation switches, and types of physical light housings. The primary focus of this course is to give the shooter the confidence to effectively utilize their weapon light to engage targets in low-light scenarios. This course is designed for shooters who already have a strong grasp of shooting fundamentals and a thorough understanding of firearms safety.

Prerequisites: Carbine 1 or Military/Law-Enforcement experience

  • Light activation techniques
  • Movement and weapon handling in low-light
  • Effectively utilizing a weapon mounted light to engage targets
